Light, quick dry

I am a fly fishing guide on the amazing white river in north Arkansas. As summer comes in, I didn't want to wear heavy wading boots to row the boat. Hot, clunky and clumsy boots.....still have to get in the water to launch and load the boat though, so, I wanted a shoe that can get wet and still give a small bit of protection for my feet.Back story, I've repaired mining and forestry machinery for 2 decades and have worn heavy weight steel shanked, steel toed boots the whole time. I have grown very accustomed to having that level of boot on my feet.First run in with these shoes, they smell a bit funny when you first get em outta the bag.... Ok.... All things smell funny at first.First try on. I have a narrow foot, finding a shoe that fits narrow feet is a truly impossible task in today's times. I saw what appeared to be an adjuster on the sides of the shoe, maybe it'll slide tight and keep the shoe firmly attached to my heel.... Yeah, nope...that buckle is there just for show. No special adjustments.First time to the river.... Launched the boat, in the water and the shoes surprisingly didn't hold water and were dry pretty quick! Ok cool... Fished and rowed the boat all day. Comfy shoe.Time to load the boat and drop the clients off, hop out to eat anchor and get the truck.... There are rocks along the rivers edge here... You can literally feel every dadgum single stinking pebble right through the soles of these shoes. For the first time in 20 years, I got a stone bruise on my feet...yeah, both of em ..Imagine this: I am 6ft 1, 270 pounds, full sleeve tattoos and a beard to my belly (I probably would fit in better at a biker bar than as a fly fishing guide) hobbling around trying to get up the bank to tbe truck because the shoe soles arebt firm enough to allow a full sized dude to walk aroubd on some rocks. So ... Ending...They don't hold water and dry quick. They are light and cool. The adjuster is for looking at not for using and the soles are SOFT. Maybe I am spoiled by years of wearing logger boots, who knows...

Like them so far

I was kinda skeptical of them at first pulling them out of the box. I'm a size 10w and they fit just fine. The toe was a bit tight at first but felt comfortable after wearing them for a bit. You might want to get inserts, but overall I like them. They would be great for hiking as the sole is flexible on the ground. Easily slip on and off. As far as durability, only time will tell, but as of day one, they were great.

Great shoes for price

Did 2 hikes while hiking Havasupia wearing these shoes. Total distance around 17 miles. Good traction and comfort not bad. Many steam crossings and short swims at water falls and no complaints. Did have to wear socks because fine sand filters into shoes all the time and does not flush out when in water or while walking.

Great for hiking

Angela Haywood 2023-06-05 00:00:00

I loved this hiking shoe. It was for the most part comfortable. The heel area should be a bit softer fabric it did irritate my heel a bit. I put a heel protector sticky pad in there and was good to go. The style of the shoe is phenomenal! I felt steady while hiking on different terrain including when crossing moving water! Overall it’s a great shoe!

Durable to wear over Lava Rock

Ronald Still 2023-05-26 00:00:00

Shoes held up very well for my trip to Hawaii. I used them for walking over rough rocks on the beach and in the shallow water before starting to swim in the ocean. The shoe liner came out twice as I was taking off and I only had to place it back and keep going. The liner has not torn or turned into a twisted taco. The traction and footbed is thick enough for me as a big guy. I have worn other shoes with no support and thinner soles and those slip on surfaces and I could feel every rock. I wear extra wide shoes and ordered one size smaller at medium width and they were just fine. Great shoe stability too and I didn’t feel like they were coming off my foot.
