Used for damp-heat diarrhea, damp-heat jaundice, as well as drizzling and painful urination, red and white vaginal discharge, swelling and pain in the genitals, swelling and pain in the feet and knees, and weakness. The ability of Phellodendron chinense to clear heat and dry dampness is similar to that of Scutellaria baicalensis and Coptis chinensis, but it is better at removing damp heat in the lower part of the body.
