So supportive for an old ankle injury

When my son was 8, he fell from the school playground and his ankle got stuck as he was falling, which left him literally dangling upside down by his ankle screaming for help. Fast forward several years, and he has chronic ankle pain (even though nothing shows up on an x-ray). Doctor recommended getting a super supportive shoe. At first we tried Oboz, which he really liked, but they cost about $150 and the ankle pain did not go away. After about a month of wearing these Asics, though, he no longer has any pain (unless he is running around barefoot), so we just bought a second pair to use inside on our wood floors. Love the colors too- they are a really sleek, comfortable, supportive, good-looking shoe!

I got these shoes on sale for $29 now I normally wear a wide width which still holds true but thankfully these shoes materials did stretch. The shoes are now comfortable, was definitely tight at first but have since broken in now a few things the heel section has next to no support is just soft fabric so if you leave your shoes tied and slip them on and off like me good luck it’s gonna crumble down at the heel. I normally wear ASICS gel venture series which for me is more comfortable and feels to be much better made than these are, I bought them because I needed a new pair of shoes and they were $29 hard to beat that but I am hard on shoes and these feel a little cheap so I’m only expecting a 6 month lifespan give or take if you want cheap shoes here you go and they are comfortable enough but I don’t see these holding up if you are flat footed and heavy set but this is just my 2cents worth.

I travel a lot so I have two pairs. One at home and one in my suitcase. I put lots of miles on my shoes, and I probably should be replacing them more often than I do, but these have lasted me in the past 18 months. I think for the miles I put on them, I should portably change them out every 12 months.

Was buying it for the everyday wear and took my exact size - 11.5. Shoes are made in Indonesia, so they fit perfectly (the shoes, which are made in China are always smaller than Indonesian and Vietnamese ones). My advise, if you're looking for Gel-Excite 9 for running, go with the half size up, but find out about the country of origin first.Overall, great looking shoes for the reasonable price and very comfortable.

First order was alittle to small they dont have 1/2 sizes when you get to larger size. Second order fit great, arches quite hurting.. still beats any shoe at store two sets of shoes cheaper then scheels or kolhs
